“Swing your swing.” If you’re a fan of golf, you already know who said this and what he meant. Arnold Palmer died in 2016, but his legacy lives on by not just how he played, but more importantly, the way he treated people.
As golf’s first TV star, countless adoring fans were fascinated by his unique swing. “The King” knew that his swing was unorthodox, but the seven-time major champion embraced his uniqueness while showing the world that it was cool to just be yourself.
I’ve had the privilege of managing brands for two recent world #1 golfers – both men exhibiting unique and powerful swings. Witnessing the effortless motion of Dustin Johnson or the raw power of Brooks Koepka is a sight to see in person. Averaging 312 yards and 309 yards off the tee respectively, they achieve practically the same result with two very different ways of getting there.
My point is, our real estate industry is a terrific example of diversity and uniqueness. It is through this diversity that we forge new paths, embrace complex challenges, and develop deeper relationships. By better understanding the world we live in and the people we live around, we increase not only our level of empathy for others, but also our self-awareness.
I welcome your “uniqueness” to Business Technology Forum at Columbus REALTORS®! We do things a bit differently at BizTech and we encourage you to be a part of it this year. Brent Saunders, your vice chair, and I are developing a two-part marketing workshop to better equip Columbus REALTORS® with branding tools and tips they can truly use. More event details are forthcoming, so we ask that you join our Facebook Group (see below) or check columbusrealtors.com for event details.
In the meantime, we’d love to see you at one of our future meetings, where we often get the first look at what technologies Columbus REALTORS® is considering. How cool is that?!
