In March, Columbus was recognized by Realtor.com as the number 1 hottest real estate market in America! That’s no surprise to our REALTOR® members who are either feeling blessed or cursed, depending on which side of the transaction you are on — the seller’s side or the buyer’s side.
And where is that market slowdown that some pundits were predicting for 2019? Not happening in our market with interest rates going down and not up as predicted plus a strong local economy bolstered by job and population growth.
Also, in March, we held our annual Commercial Awards Banquet, where we recognized the 2018 sales and transaction excellence of our commercial members. See more about the award winners in the July/August In Contract magazine, beginning on page 40.
Then in April, at our Awards Lunch, we celebrated the achievements of many of our members. We started the event off recognizing Columbus REALTORS®' newest 25-, 40- and 50-year members, followed by recognition of our 2019 10 under 40 honorees. We then honored Bob Kutschbach as Broker of the year, Jan Jedlinsky as Salesperson of the year, Marilyn Brown as Citizen of the Year, Scott Stevenson as Affiliate of the Year, Jason Hottle as Rising Star of the Year and Larry Schottenstein as Instructor of the Year. One of our most important Columbus REALTORS® events happens on May 9, the annual CORPAC Auction will again be held at St. Charles Preparatory School. This ever popular event supports our critically important advocacy efforts — as well as supporting issues and candidates that are important to the REALTOR® profession and private property rights.
Then on June 5, we'll host our 15th annual REALTOR® Care Day. Be a part of this event that gives back to our communities. Columbus REALTORS® main project heads back to Columbus’ Milo-Grogan neighborhood and area realty associations have projects planned all over central Ohio. Check them out on page 11 in this issue.

For commercial members, Catylist has launched their national commercial web platform, commercialexchange.com, and COCIE subscribers now have national exposure on this website for their properties available for sale and lease.
For residential members, the Homesnap rollout was a tremendous success! After just one month 3,174 REALTOR® members had registered! That number exceeds any other major MLS launch thus far for Homesnap!
