Leadership Academy - Columbus Board of REALTORS

Columbus REALTORS® would like to congratulate the 2011-2012 charter member graduates of the first Leadership Academy class. The Academy aims to further cultivate and advance the skills of future industry and community leaders by enhancing their personal, professional and association talents. The Leadership Academy aligns with Columbus REALTORS®' commitment to strengthening central Ohio’s real estate community by building highly skilled leaders within the industry.

The Academy curriculum consists of nine sessions, seven of which are intensely focused full-day programs designed to help students develop their expertise in business, public speaking, leadership, government, outreach and, of course, the real estate industry. Leadership Academy Class of 2011-2012

Chris Bell, Best Corporate Real Estate

– Chris has been licensed commercial real estate agent since 1998. In 2000, she was awarded the C/I Rookie of the Year and was the CCIIR President in 2010. Prior to her career in real estate, Chris spent 10 years in the United States Air Force as a Communications Specialist.

Kaci Brown, B & A Realty

– An Ohio University graduate, Kaci has worked for her family owned and operated property management company since 2003. In 2009, she received her real estate broker’s license. When she is not helping run the family business, Kaci spends her free time volunteering at the Housing Corporation Board for Sigma Kappa sorority on Ohio University’s campus.

Clayton Davis, Continental Realty, Ltd

. – Clayton is a graduate of Bowling Green University and Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Clayton graduated in the top 2% of his class at CCAF and spent 6 years as a Crew Chief for the United States Air Force. He received his real estate license in 2008 and is actively involved in commercial real estate. He is also the founder of Barrier Breakers Goodwill Columbus, a charity helping those with disabilities.

Patrick Florence, Keller Williams Capital Partners

– Ambitious from a young age, Patrick began his successful career in real estate at age 18, when he bought his first house for $4,000. A graduate from The Ohio State University, he went on to become a Columbus REALTORS® 10 Million Dollar Club award recipient and owner/manager of 23 rental units. He is also a mentor for aspiring real estate professionals.

Milt Lustnauer, RE/MAX Premiere Choice

– A graduate of Ohio University, Milt has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1983. Throughout his career, he has been a Director and Officer for the Columbus REALTORS® and was awarded the asssociation's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. He is currently the association Treasurer and will be President in 2014.

Bob McCarthy, Real Living, HER

– A licensed REALTOR® since 1994, Bob graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Communications. He is a 1, 5 and 10 Million Dollar Club award recipient and received the association's Volunteer Service Award in 2002. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Professional Development for Real Living HER.

Buffie Patterson, M3 & Associates Real Estate

– A graduate from The Ohio State University, Buffie was previously the Senior V.P. of Business Banking for J.P. Morgan Chase. Realizing a passion for real estate, she stepped out in 2009 to pursue a full-time career in the industry. She currently serves on 14 volunteer committees throughout central Ohio and is President of the Executive Board for the National Black MBA Association.

Shad Phipps, CB Richard Ellis, Inc.

– An Ohio native and graduate of The Ohio State University, Shad has been honing his real estate talents since becoming licensed in 2002. He is involved in numerous charity organizations in central Ohio, including his most proud organization, the Hockey Beat Downs, which helps raise awareness and money for cancer research from the local hockey community.

Jill Rudler, Real Living HER

– Jill has been a licensed agent since 1978, specializing in residential sales. In 2007, she received the association's Lifetime Achievement Award and the President’s Sales Club Dollar Volume #2 team in Ohio, in 2010. In her free time, Jill is an avid community volunteer, serving on the advisory board for Habitat for Humanity, the Women’s Council of REALTORS® and numerous committees for Columbus REALTORS®.

Kathy Shiflet, Coldwell Banker King Thompson

– Kathy has been a licensed real estate agent in the state of Ohio since 1996. She is a recipient of the association's 1, 5, 10 and 25 Million Dollar Club Award, as well as the National Leadership Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Throughout her career, she was awarded the number one team in Coldwell Banker King Thompson and top 1% worldwide within her brokerage. She is currently the association Secretary and will be President in 2015.

Mark Sullivan, Keller Williams Greater Columbus

– A graduate of The Ohio State University, Mark has been a licensed agent since 1996. He owns and operates his own real estate company, Keller Williams Greater Columbus Realty, which he launched in 2003. Mark was President of the Whitehall-Bexley Rotary club in 1996 and was the developer of the Columbus Home and Garden Show when he was President of the Columbus Landscape Association in 1995.

Kasey Welch, RE/MAX Capital Center

– A graduate of The Ohio State University, Kasey has been a licensed agent since 2000. He is a recipient of the association's 5 Million Dollar Award and RE/MAX Executive Club. While attending university, he helped Columbus begin the process of securing a major league soccer franchise, The Columbus Crew, as President of Pi Sigma Epsilon (business and marketing club).
