This virtual forum, set for Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, 10-11a, will feature a discussion on how we can work together to improve the affordable housing crisis with Carlie Boos, Esq., Executive Director of the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio. Carlie will share how non-profit and for-profit organizations' activities provide homeless and housing services through housing development and finance, as well as how the affordable housing challenges in turn supports economic progress and strengthens the community.
In her role as Executive Director, Carlie provides leadership and strategic direction to members, stakeholders, and the local community to expand affordable housing resources. Previously, Carlie served as an attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus, Ohio, focusing on community and economic development projects. While there, she provided comprehensive legal, logistical, and financial counsel to organizations that make an impact in Columbus neighborhoods. She also has extensive experience in policy and program development, having worked at the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. At OHFA, she developed the Qualified Allocation Plan, oversaw the Ohio and National Housing Trust Fund allocation plans, led issue-specific initiatives like youth housing and assisted living finance, and created the FHAct50 Building Opportunity Fund. She also directed housing and economic recovery programming, including the Neighborhood Initiative Program and Save the Dream Ohio.
