2020 marks the 16th year for REALTOR® Care Day. For the first 15 years, Columbus REALTORS® and local Area Realty and Joint Industry Trade Associations have hosted projects on the same day making this event our largest, community service day. Last year, we had 23 other associations participate in REALTOR® Care Day. This year, we hope to maintain that level of excitement.
However, due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and ‘Stay Safe Ohio’, REALTOR® Care Day will not be a single day event in 2020.
Prior to the COVID-19 break-out, the REALTOR® Care Day Committee had been planning to help our central Ohio Ronald McDonald House create a Community Garden, among other things. We have solidified plans to create the RMHC Garden on June 10 & 11, however the crew size will now be limited to 30 volunteers per day. The project will include:
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own garden gloves and masks. Columbus REALTORS® will have masks available at registration also.
Lunch will be provided by Jet's Pizza. Volunteer spots are available first come, first served. Parking map.
Area Realty and Industry Trade Associations are again welcome to be a part of the 2020 REALTOR® Care Day initiative. If your association will commit to participating in a community service project anytime between now and December 31, 2020, the Columbus REALTORS® Foundation will commit to matching funds (up to $500) to help you in accomplishing your project. Application.
This year, we are asking you to think outside the box:
Let's use our 2020 REALTOR® Care Day projects to help get central Ohioans back on their feet!
REALTOR® Care Day is an annual event where volunteers give back to their communities. It started with one community service project in 2005. Last year's event involved 24 groups working on 41 projects all over central Ohio! Since its inception, REALTOR® Care Day has resulted in almost $559,000 invested back into our communities.
REALTOR® Care Day is funded through the Columbus REALTORS® Foundation. Area realty and industry trade associations can apply for matching funds (up to $500 each) to help fund their community service efforts for this event. Additional assistance is received from many individuals and companies through in-kind donations of money, goods and services. More info.
