First YPN Scholarship Awarded!
The Young Professionals Network of Columbus REALTORS® would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Amy Davis, the 2016 recipient of the first ever YPN Scholarship! Amy was selected from nearly two dozen applicants who applied for scholarships available through the Columbus REALTORS® Foundation.
Amy will be joining Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Calhoon Company where she will work with and learn from current and past real estate industry leaders. She is a Columbus native and a graduate of Upper Arlington High School and Ohio University with a B.A. in Communications. Amy volunteers her time with Kitchen Kapers and Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
“With Amy’s background in giving back to the community and volunteering, plus a solid plan to work her way into real estate, we believe that Amy will grow into a successful agent both in her work and giving back to Columbus REALTORS® and community,” said Jesse Shkolnik, vice chair of the Columbus REALTORS® Scholarship Committee.
The YPN Scholarship is awarded to a central Ohio student who best exemplifies the characteristics needed to excel as a newly licensed REALTOR®, YPN member and real estate industry leader. This scholarship is an initiative that was set forth the previous summer thanks to funds from the Columbus REALTORS® YPN 2015 Scavenger Hunt.
“Amy is a great choice. She interviewed very well and is anxious to get involved with YPN and Columbus REALTORS®,” said Heather Dunn, a member of the Scholarship Committee. “She has family in the business and has a solid base to get her business up and running. Keep an eye open for her...she's going to be a strong addition to our YPN!”
The Scholarship Committee also selects highly qualified individuals for the Nate Katz Memorial Scholarship, the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Scholarship and the Columbus Realtors Foundation General Scholarship.
