Columbus REALTORS® -- Renames Million Dollar Awards

The Columbus REALTORS® Board of Directors recently approved the Recognition & Sales Awards Committee recommendation to rename the sales award levels. This recommendation came as a result of a survey sent to current recipients of the Association’s sales awards and the ongoing concern of the consumer’s misinterpretation of the dollar amounts referenced in the award names.

Under the rules and with the new name changes, there are two ways to apply for the awards, Method A and Method B.

METHODS
Under Method A, the name changes and criteria are as follows:

PRESIDENT’S MERIT AWARD (formerly known as the $1 Million Dollar Award): This award requires a minimum sales volume of $1,000,000 in the year of application, coupled with participation in a minimum of five (5) closings for the current year.

PRESIDENT’S COMMITMENT AWARD (formerly known as the $5 Million Dollar Award and obtainable only after achieving the President’s Merit Award): Requires a minimum sales volume of $4,000,000 cumulative after gaining admission to the President’s Merit Award (including any excess volume from previous sales), which shall include at least $1,000,000 in verified sales for the current year. Additionally, the applicant must show participation in a minimum of five (5) closings for the current year.

PRESIDENT’S EXCELLENCE AWARD (formerly known as the $10 Million Dollar Award and obtainable only after achieving the President’s Commitment Award: A minimum sales volume of $5,000,000 cumulative after gaining admission to the President’s Commitment Award (including any excess volume from previous sales), which shall include at least $1,000,000 in verified sales for the current year. Additionally, the applicant must show participation in a minimum of five (5) closings for the current year.

PRESIDENT’S PRESTIGE AWARD (formerly known as the $25 Million Dollar Award and obtainable only after achieving the President’s Excellence Award): A minimum sales volume of $15,000,000 cumulative after gaining admission to the President’s Excellence Award, (including any excess volume from previous sales), which shall include at least $1,000,000 in verified sales for the current year. Additionally, the applicant must show participation in a minimum of five (5) closings for the current year.

METHOD B is for individuals who have obtained a minimum of ten (10) years of Columbus REALTOR® membership and who hold primary or secondary membership with the Columbus REALTORS® at the time of application. Method B levels include:

• PRESIDENT’S COMMITMENT AWARD: A minimum sales volume of $5,000,000
• PRESIDENT’S EXCELLENCE AWARD: A minimum sales volume of $10,000,000
• PRESIDENT’S PRESTIGE AWARD: A minimum sales volume of $25,000,000

Criteria will be considered met if applicant presents evidence that they have satisfied equal criteria with a REALTOR® association that has merged with Columbus REALTORS®.

  • For the member applying under Method B who has never applied for and received a Columbus REALTORS® sales award, calculation of sales production will begin with the first year the applicant could have qualified for the President’s Merit Award.
  • For those members applying under Method B who have applied for and received a Columbus REALTORS® sales award, regardless of level, calculation of sales volume produced prior to these award years will begin with the first year the applicant could have qualified for that award.

If planning to apply for one of the sales award levels this year, please note that the deadline for submitting your paperwork is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, 5p (no exceptions) and that the sales award year runs from Nov. 1, 2018 through Oct. 31, 2019.
