2017 Congressional Roundtable a tremendous success

Yesterday, over 130 Columbus REALTORS® members gathered for our 3rd Congressional Roundtable with Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congressman Pat Tiberi and Congressman Steve Stivers.

During this unique event, believed to be the only REALTOR® Association in the country to conduct a bi-partisan roundtable with multiple Members of Congress, our members were briefed on federal issues relating to the real estate industry. A majority of the discussion focused on tax reform but other issues were addressed such as affordable access to health care for independent contractors and small employers, Guaranteed Fees (G-Fees), Government Supported Enterprise (GSE) Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac reform and more.

While debates continue in Washington, D.C. regarding all of these issues, each member of Congress reiterated one important aspect – the need for REALTORS® and the Association to remain active participants in these conversations. These issues impact the consumer, our members and the economy.

Many attending the Congressional Roundtable will travel to the REALTOR® Legislative Mid-Year Conference in Washington, D.C. next month to continue discussions and lobbying efforts on these very issues.

Next week, our members continue our political efforts on the State level. The Ohio Association of REALTORS® Spring Legislative Conference will be held downtown Monday – Wednesday. To learn more about the Spring Legislative Conference and to register, click here.
