Holiday Gifts for clients

Looking for some great gift ideas for the holidays? We asked members to share their gifts ideas. Here are their suggestions...

For the home

  • Gift Certificate to a nursery (plants)
  • Buckeye Tree – “Go Bucks!”
  • Gift certificate to Home Depot, Lowe’s or other home improvement store
  • Small birdhouse that says welcome or a home with an attached business card on the bottom to put over the door
  • Painted rock with a house and a white picket fence with welcome printed across the top and business card on bottom
  • Door knocker with their name on it
  • Framed, matted, drawing of their new home! If you are an artist, you could sketch the home you sold them with a simple pencil.  Leave a note inside that they can change out the picture if they would like. Make it fun. If you’re really good they would not think of changing the original print.

For the holidays

  • Holiday wreaths
  • Christmas CD’s
  • House ornament with their address and/or name on it
  • A numbered and dated hand cut glass tree ornaments from Dale Moore Hand Cut Glass, Fair Ave. Box 262, Beverly, Oh 45715 (740) 984-2855. Every year the etching is different. Another gift idea would be a Santa Mug & Saucer filled with yogurt pretzels, chocolate covered candy canes & Rudolph’s chocolate creamy cocoa from Gifts Baskets Galore. Cost is $15. You can pick up the Mug & Saucer in Worthington or have it delivered. To order, call 519-9565 or visit their web site, www.gbgalore.com
  • Small Christmas/happy holiday bowl filled with small bag of candy, gift-wrapped
  • Hire a taxi or limo for your clients ride to and from home on New Years Eve
  • A mini spruce tree in a painted pot. They can plant it outside come spring. As the tree grows each year they will remember you are the one that thought of them on the holidays. (Great for first time new homeowners.)

Things to do

  • Send them a gift certificate to have a night at a local hotel for a night of swimming and room service.  One night of relaxation with or without the kids.  It proves to be great around the overwhelming holidays.  Or they can use it during the winter months when ‘fun’ activities are limited.
  • Tickets to holiday events (Nutcracker, etc.)
  • Tickets to Shadowbox or Funny Bone
  • Movie Tickets for the family
  • Have a (well known) local restaurant owner call all of your newest homeowners and invite them to dinner compliments of their REALTOR®. Make it special with flowers and pick up the check, no limit.

Food & Spirits

  • Graeter’s Gift Certificates. Everyone loves ice cream...even in December!
  • A specialty food item from Harry and David sent through the mail is a wonderful surprise. Gourmet popcorn always delights the soul!
  • I bought a case of microwave fudge packaged in burlap bags with a Christmas moose at the top.  It is called “Rich and Famoose Microwave fudge” and it is easy, delicious and fun!
  • Dinner gift certificates
  • Wine or Wine Rack if they like wine
  • Wine & cheese - hand delivered
  • For my younger, hipper clients, get them a six-pack of Miller Lite and a card that says, “Enjoy the Holiday Lites this season.”

Miscellaneous

  • Theme baskets (sports, special interests)
  • Picture folders/boxes
  • Calendar for the new year
  • Gift certificate for a week of cooking, a week of laundry, a month of yard mowing or leaf raking.
  • Charitable contribution to their favorite charity, the local YMCA, youth group, their church, school, retirement center, local food pantry. etc.  This would not only be a blessing to your client but to the whole community.
  • Address labels or address stamp with their new address
  • Golf balls with your company logo or name printed on them
  • If you are a member of Angie’s List, you can give an Angie’s List gift subscription to your clients at half price ($24.50) during their special promotion at the end of the year. Angie’s List will send out a letter to your client stating that their REALTOR® has given the12-month subscription to them. The address label will also list the REALTOR®’s name and each month the client will be reminded of who gave them the subscription.
  • Gift item that helps them to remember your name.
  • Member Marjorie See always orders See’s candies from California and has them sent to clients.
  •  Speaking of keyboxes...The CBR Member Service Center offers permanent style keyboxes – spin dial $25, push button $27.95. This product is great for families with schoolchildren, visiting relatives, housecleaning services, etc.
  • Monthly magazine subscription - a gift that keeps on giving (Traditional Homes, Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living, etc.)
  • Ties for men
