C/I Recognition Committee Accepting nominations for C/I Awards
Steve Tucker, Chair
The C/I Recognition Committee has been working diligently to encourage and promote the participation of Commercial Brokers and Agents to submit applications for Rookie of the Year, Largest C/I Transaction, Most C/I Transactions, Top Producer, 1031 Exchange and Most unique 1031 exchange and the Erika Blumenstein Memorial Award.
The C/I Recognition Awards, presented during Forecast Night, were first awarded in 1996 to recognize those commercial/investment members who have not only achieved outstanding business success but have also made significant contributions to their community and the Columbus Board of REALTORS®, OAR and NAR.
Commercial REALTORS® play such a vital role in helping shape and strengthen our economy on the local, national and international levels. A residential developer needs to have a strong real estate community to move forward in developing their project. REALTORS® are the strongest component in the overall economic engine. C/I members help locate companies such as factories, distribution centers, retail, office, medical and everything in between to ensure the strength of the local and regional area. There are so many hats that we wear as REALTORS®, such as understanding zoning, density and growth issues. These numerous facets all have a purpose in creating truly desirable communities. In turn that has a ripple affect on the local housing market whether it be single family, condo or apartment living.
Our committee has discussed methods to encourage receiving as many nomination forms as possible to make sure that we do not miss a truly deserving recipient of the many categories being awarded. Applications will be mailed to all commercial brokers and available on the CBR web site and if any residential broker has an agent who has been involved in a commercial transaction, whether it is land or multi-family, please do contact the Board to make sure they receive an application.
It is a great experience serving on this committee. You have the opportunity to meet people who provide invaluable knowledge and expertise.
After reading this article, please take the time to look among your colleagues and nominate the member or members you feel are deserving of the above awards.
We look forward to receiving nominations by December 31, 2003 and seeing you all at the awards ceremony during the CBR Forecast Night on January 21, 2004. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program.
