Foundation Fund Launch Update


The REALTOR® Foundation Fund launched their 2003 Membership Awareness Campaign during CBR’s Annual Business Meeting and Trade Show held October 23rd at the Aladdin Shriners Complex.

The launch included a stirring challenge to members by Foundation Advisory Board Chairperson Lynda Long to remember the REALTOR® Foundation Fund in their year-end charitable giving. 

Fundraising sub-committee co-chair Debbie Phillips Bower described to those in attendance several fun ways that members can help support the fund yet this year, including:

For those in attendance during the Business Meeting portion of the days’ events, a sample of things to come was provided when REALTOR® Chris Davis conducted a lively auction of some items donated for the Celebrity Waiter Luncheon.  The Greater Worthington Real Estate Association donated a 2002 OSU National Champions Collector Series Football; and, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage donated a Three Night/Four Day Vacation package. 

For those attending the Trade Show portion of the day, one of our celebrity waiters, News Anchor Gabe Spiegel of Channel 6 and TV28 helped to staff the REALTOR® Foundation Booth.

Many thanks go to the GWREA, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Chris Davis, and Gabe Spiegel for their support as more than $2,500 was raised during Sales Associates Day for the REALTOR® Foundation Fund.

Holiday Card Sale
Winners of a contest for students at Columbus College of Art & Design had their designs selected for our first ever holiday greeting card sale.  Cards, priced at $15 for 25 cards with envelopes with proceeds to benefit the fund, are produced in CBR’s own print shop and are on sale in the Member Service Center.  Use the form (right) to place your order today!

Celebrity Waiter Luncheon
Jimmy Crum is the Master of Ceremonies for this November 14th luncheon to be held at the Westin Great Southern Hotel.  In addition to Crum, many other fun local celebrities have volunteered to help make this first ever REALTOR® Foundation Luncheon a success.  Featuring both live and silent auctions, the Celebrity Luncheon promises to be a memorable event.  Cost to attend is $350 for a table of ten, and $35 for individual tickets.  See the registration flier on page 19 to make your reservations today!

Big Money Raffle
With only 100 to be sold at $100 each, the $10,000 proceeds are shared equally between the raffle winner and the REALTOR® Foundation Fund.  Contact any committee member or call CBR, 475-4000, to purchase your raffle ticket.
