John Lowry

John Lowry

Coldwell Banker King Thompson

John, a lifelong Hilltop resident, is an active member of the Hilltop Business Association, vice president of the Friends of the Hilltop and vice chair of the Greater Hilltop Community Development Corporation Board. He also assists his wife Barbara in many community programs geared towards low-income housing and neighborhood growth in the west Columbus area.

John is in his third term as chairman of the Hilltop Business Association’s Historic Hilltop Bean Dinner, held this year on June 29.

The Bean Dinner is a historical event held since the 1920s, originally to reunite Civil War veterans from both the north and south for beans and coffee. The local Hilltop Bean Dinner has evolved into a gathering place for the community — bringing together families, friends, area businesses and non-profits for a day of fun. This event has grown to become the biggest bean dinner in history, this year drawing more than 30,000 people to the daylong celebration.
