Technology continues to provide advertising advantages for today's REALTOR® via the Internet that initially allowed for your listings to be viewed globally through www.Realtor.com. There are now company web sites and you may choose whether to allow your listing inventory to be placed on either all of them or none of them. These company web sites are simply another source on which to display your listing inventory. However, unlike the standardized formats provided by www.Realtor.com, these company web sites allow for more creativity that your MLS Committee and officers and trustees believe should be confined to a specialized format when advertising the MLS listing data of your company. Therefore, it is necessary for any company requesting the use of the complete MLS inventory to - conform to the Web Site IDX Guidelines
- be certain MLS has your broker's permission for placement of your company's listing inventory on their individual web site. It will be the responsibility of your MLS to keep you apprised of all known company sites by publishing their web site address where your listings appear (e.g., ML publications, In Contract magazine, MLS computer notices, CBR web site www.columbusrealtors.com, etc) and it will be the responsibility of each company hosting the web site to be certain MLS listings appear in accordance with the Web Site Guidelines.
There is no cost to allow your listings to appear on www.Realtor.com or any other company web site. If you are in agreement with the Web Site Guidelines, your company's listing inventory will automatically appear on all other company's web sites as they develop. However, if there is ever any company web site where you do not want your listings to appear, then that decision would automatically exclude your listing inventory from all other company web sites since the choice is non-selective. Brokers listing are automatically included in the IDX feed unless written request is submitted to CBR. |
