Welcome to The Columbus Board of REALTORS®! We are excited about your interest in our association and in joining the growing REALTOR® community. Below you will find the necessary membership forms and information you will need to get the application process underway.

STEPS TO BECOMING A MEMBER


1.
Select your membership classification:

REALTOR® -- There are four types of membership available for individuals who have a real estate license or appraiser license or certification.

  • Designated REALTOR® - Licensed broker or appraiser who is sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm's principals. Residential and Commercial/Investment Section membership available. 
  • REALTOR® - Licensed broker, salesperson or appraiser who is associated with a Designated REALTOR®. Residential and Commercial/Investment Section membership available.
  • REALTOR® Appraiser - Licensed appraisers who wish to hold REALTOR® membership in the Board
  • Institute Affiliate - individuals who hold a professional designation awarded by a qualified Institute, Society, or Council affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS® that addresses a specialty area other than residential brokerage or individuals who otherwise hold a class of membership in such Institute, Society or Council that confers the right to vote or hold office.
         

AFFILIATE/SUSTAINING -- There are three types of membership available for individuals who do not have a real estate license but have an interest in the real estate industry.

  • Corporate Affiliate - real estate owners or individuals associated with a title company, mortgage company, financial institution, home building, or other company not having individuals licensed as sales agents or brokers.
  • Individual Affiliate - individuals associated with the company of a Corporate Affiliate member (above). 
  • Sustaining - individuals who practice in industries such as home inspection, pest control, insurance, engineering, moving/storage, contracting, cleaning, utlities, education, advertising, government, etc. 
  • Individual Sustaining - individuals associated with the company of a Sustaining member (above).

  • the appropriate membership fees and dues  Click here for dues/fees info
  • completed application form
  • a copy of your Broker, Salesperson, or Appraiser's license (not applicable to Affiliate/Sustaining applicants)

4. Attend the CBR New Member Orientation class (not applicable to Affiliate/Sustaining applicants)

REALTOR® applicants attending New Member Orientation within 60 days of application will receive a $50 refund of their application fee. The 4-hour New Member Orientation is offered monthly rotating between morning and afternoon sessions.  To see when the next orientation is offered and/or to register, visit the CBR Events Calendar and click on 'New Member Orientation'.
