Education Committee
One of the most important and beneficial committees to the CBR membership is the Residential Education Committee. The mission of this committee is to develop, organize, and present educational opportunities, and to enhance our member's professionalism and profitability. With that in mind, the committee is bringing to Columbus Danielle Kennedy, a nationally known speaker, author, instructor, mother of five, and REALTOR®, to present "How to Succeed in All Real Estate Cycles". For many newer REALTORS®, the economic times have been consistently favorable; however, the old timers have seen the ups and downs of the economic cycle. Join the Education Committee on April 30th, 9:00 A.M - Noon at the New Arena Grand Theater to learn how to prosper in good times and bad. Three hours of certified education credit will be given for attending this presentation.
Speaking of education credits? Thirty years ago my broker gave me the following advice:
"Plan to go to all the education classes you can. Try and borrow at least one idea or thought that will help you create one more transaction this year."
The Residential Education Committee this year will emphasize courses that provide up-to-date knowledge that will help foster your creativity and motivation to truly make "one more transaction" happen this year.
Your interests and requests, expressed through a survey compiled by last year's committee, are being considered by the planning committee. Topics under discussion include contracts, computer related courses, financing, agency, mold disclosure, and many others.
Be sure to look each month in your In Contract magazine for the yellow pullout section that lists upcoming classes, schedules and descriptions. The same information is also available on the CBR website
Our goal is to help our 5,650+ members become more proficient in what each of us does on a daily basis. If you happen to create one more transaction based upon a idea from a course that you took, let me know at gparsons@ cam-taylor.com. We will then know that the education committee has been successful.
