Grievance Committee to produce 'Do's' and 'Don'ts' training video
By John Watkins, Chair
Grievance Committee
As this year's Grievance Committee Chair, I would like to share with our membership the mission, function and plans we are implementing in 2003.
The Grievance Committee is a standing committee of at least six Realtor® members. Our committee is made up of 15 members this year. Committee members are appointed by the President, subject to confirmation by the Board of Directors, for 3-year terms.
The function of the Grievance Committee is to review ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if, taken as true on their face, a hearing is warranted.
Our plans incorporate the following:
- Improve the image of Realtors®.
- Enhance CBR's value and member perception of CBR's value.
- Increase ethical behavior
- Increase education opportunities for members.
"To be forewarned is to be forearmed"
Our goal for 2003 is to provide additional visual tools to the membership in two-forms.
- We plan to produce a video on the do's and don'ts of common mistakes that may result in an ethics or arbitration complaint for the membership as a training tool.
- We will expand our web site ColumbusRealtors.com with information on the grievance process so each member can ascertain information that may answer a number of questions in a given situation.
Knowledge is power!
I would like to thank all of the members of the committee for their service. I would also like to encourage each of you to serve on this or any other committee. After all this is our business.
Good selling to all in 2003!
