Official Notice of the opportunity
to Run for Election

The Board of Directors consists of : (a) 12 Realtor® members, four of whom are elected each year for terms of three years each; the Immediate Past President; one Corporate or Individual Affiliate Member elected each year for a one-year term; the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary; the chair of the C/I Section Steering Committee; and the Chief Executive Officer.

DIRECTOR: Deadline - October 31, 2002
Anyone wishing to run for the Affiliate or one of the four Director positions must be a CBR member in good standing (residential or commercial) and have held continuous membership in the Board for a minimum of three successive years.

Election of the Nominating Committee
Realtor® members of the CBR will elect four members to serve on the Nominating Committee at the Annual Business Meeting, Thursday, October 24, 2002. The Nominating Committee for Directors consists of: four Realtor® members who are neither current Directors nor past presidents; the elected Realtor® Directors whose terms expire this year; and one past president appointed by the current President. If you wish to serve on the Nominating Committee but cannot be at the annual business meeting, we'll need your written consent in advance. No member of the Nominating Committee may be nominated to run on the slate of candidates.

Election of DIRECTORS
Within 15 days after their election, the Nominating Committee must nominate two candidates for each office to be filled. Eligible voting members of the CBR will be mailed written ballots containing the names of all persons nominated by the committee, together with a return envelope. The ballots will include a deadline for return (late November/early December). Ballots received after the stated deadline cannot be considered. The Nominating Committee meets the day after the deadline to count the ballots. The nominees receiving the highest number of votes shall be declared elected.
