Why do you contribute to CORPAC?

Member Perspectives

Jeff Murray, Murray Realty

I give to CORPAC so I can continue making a living. We're very fortunate in
the Columbus area to have a diverse, thriving economy that keeps the housing industy strong. That could easily change without a favorable political climate.
CORPAC helps to keep our political leaders aware of the concerns and needs
of homeowners and the real estate industry in general.
Our CORPAC committees have been able to maintian several fun ways to support them including the golf outing and the auction.

Sam Calhoon, Prudential Calhoon Company

I give to CORPAC to protect my livihood. The outside threats to our
industry are real and CORPAC and RPAC dollars have made an impact. Over the years legislators have made such attempts as to levy impact fees on new residential construction, state-wide transfer taxes on real property and even attempted to require installment of sprinkler systems in Ohio residential units built prior to 1974. These issues were defeated with CORPAC dollars. CORPAC has helped protect the property tax rollback, pass the Seller Property Disclosure law and preserve the mortgage interest deduction.
Every professional in our local industry should support CORPAC!

Alan Jones, RE/MAX Achievers

As much as I dislike politics ( that's why I got off the corporate ladder), I know it's a fact of life.  If someone thinks you've got a bigger piece of the pie, they're always trying to take your piece away from you. They forget that if they want to work hard enough everyone can have a bigger pie.  But that's not the way real life works in the big political world we live in.
So, even though I choose not to participate in the politics game, I recognize that I'd better hire someone to protect my interests in protecting my ability to help people achieve the American Dream with the least amount of interference. This is a very important and beneficial  business we're in, and contributing to CORPAC is a cost of doing business. To think not is naive, or just sticking your head in the sand.
