May 9 -- Affordable Housing Roundtable
  Understanding Basic Building Codes

May 16 - New Member Mentoring Session
  This month's Mentoring Session topic will address “Fulfilling Your Fiduciary Obligations” and will be held on Thursday, May 16, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the CBR Membership Headquarters, 2700 Airport Drive.
  The purpose of the mentoring program is to give newly licensed Realtors® an opportunity to chat with seasoned agents and brokers about sales, marketing and day-to day problem-solving tips. Our mentors for this session will be: Vallerie Crabtree and L. Ann Salyer.
There is no cost to attend. Reservations are not required. Please join us!

May 21 -- CORPAC Auction at Villa Milano
  5:30 p.m. Reception; 6:30 p.m. Silent Auction; 7:30 p.m. Live Auction
Your Columbus Realtors® Political Action Committee (CORPAC) is here to assist in the effort to protect private property rights. CORPAC funds are used to support local candidates who are proponants of fair and equitable private property legislation. CORPAC funds also support legislative issues, when they arise, to better the opportunity for success.
  Although the CORPAC cause is year-long, one of it's most fun events is coming up next month -- the Auction. This is a great way to support CORPAC, network and go shopping all at the same time. Please consider these opportunities...
• Advertise in the CORPAC Auction program (deadline: May 13)
• Make an auction item donation (deadline: May 13)
• Reserve a table for 10 at the auction $200 (deadline: May 13)
Attend the auction $25 ($30 at the door)

June 4, 6, 11 & 13 -- Real Estate Info Nights
  In celebration of National Home Ownership Month, the Columbus Board of Realtors® and the Columbus office of HUD will again co-host five free Home Buying Info Nights.
The purpose of the Real Estate Info Nights is to give prospective buyers an opportunity to talk one-on-one with Realtors®, lenders, credit counseling representatives and HUD representatives about their specific home buying needs. It's the perfect first step for individuals and families looking to purchase a home. Realtors®, lenders and credit counseling representatives will be needed. If you are interested in participating, please call CBR's Lynn Hackworth at 614-475-4000 x 248.
The info nights will be held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. as follows: Tuesday, June 4 at the Columbus Housing Partnership (CHP), 564 East Main Street; Thursday, June 6 at Rhema Christian Center, 2100 Agler Road and at First Church of God, 3480 Refugee Road; Tuesday, June 11 at St. Aloysius Family Center, 35 Midland Avenue*; and Thursday, June 13 at Columbus Model Neighborhood Facility, 1393 East Broad Street*.

June 6 -- OAR Management & Industry Update
  Each year, Ohio Association of Realtors® staff members travel around the state offering a Management & Industry Update. This unique program examines real estate license law, technology trends and legal cases that affect Ohio Realtors®. The program is approved for 3 hours of continuing education. June 21 -- Multi-Cultural Real Estate Career Night & Job Fair
  Multi-Cultural Real Estate Career Night and Job Fair is set for Monday, June 21, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Columbus State Community College. Real estate companies will again have an opportunity to host recruitment booths at this event. Space is limited and booths will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. June 8-23 -- Parade of Homes
  The 2002 Parade of Homes, sponsored by BIA premiers Ballantrae, one of the hottest new residential communities in central Ohio.
  This multi-million dollar community replicates the Irish/Scottish countryside with miles of rock walls, giant stone monoliths, lakes, whimsical parks, world-class sculptures all built around The Golf Club of Dublin, a true Irish links resort-style public golf course. Twelve spectacular homes priced from $590,000 to more than $900,000 will showcase the latest and greatest in home building design and decorating trends.
Parade builders include: Ambassador Homes, Benco, Cua Builders, C.V. Perry Builders, Duffy Homes, Kenric Fine Homes, Rider Brice Architects & Builders, Manor Homes, P & D Builders, Romanelli & Hughes, Showcase Homes and the Truberry Group.
  A one-day admission pass is $10. The Parade is open Monday through Saturday noon – 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 6 p.m. The Parade will also feature special “how to” workshops, concessions, family activities and entertainment. For ticket information, call (614) 891-0575.
