April 11 - Affordable Housing Roundtable
The next Affordable Housing Roundtable will be held on Thursday, April 11, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the CBR Membership Headquarters. “Getting the most bang for your buck” will be the topic of discussion. Cost is $2. Reservations are not required.
April 13 - New Member Mentoring Session
This month's Mentoring Session topic will address “Differentiating Yourself in a Competitive World” and will be held on Thursday, April 18, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the CBR Membership Headquarters, 2700 Airport Drive.
The purpose of the mentoring program is to give newly licensed Realtors® an opportunity to chat with seasoned agents and brokers about sales, marketing and day-to day problem-solving tips. Our mentors for this session will be: Sue Lusk-Gleich, L. Ann Salyer and Don Shaffer.
There is no cost to attend. Reservations are not required. Please join us!
April 13 - Minority Homeownership Expo
Minority Homeownership Expo is set for Saturday, April 13, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the King Arts Complex, 867 Mount Vernon Avenue. Volunteers are needed to help with various activities (registration, greeters, children activities, etc.) throughout the day. If you are interested in volunteering to work the event, please call CBR's Lynn Hackworth at 614-475-4000 ext. 284.
Also, there will be several home buying training sessions ongoing throughout the day. Please feel free to encourage your prospective buyers to attend. The Minority Homeownership Expo is sponsored by Columbus Urban League.
April 14-20 - American Home Week
American Home Week is a nationwide celebration during which citizens are reminded of their freedom to own private property, the importance to protect the right to own private property and the responsibilities of private property ownership - i.e. maintenance and improvement.
To this end, Columbus City Mayor Michael Coleman will issue a proclamation and our
Columbus City Council will issue a resolution stressing these points.
April 14 - Open House Sunday
In honor of American Home Week, April 14-20, 2002, the Columbus Dispatch has again teamed up with CBR to offer “Open House Sunday”. For more information, call your Dispatch Representative or 461-5523.
April 25 - Home Buyers Roundtable
The CBR Communications Committee will host it annual Home Buyers Roundtable on Thursday, April 25, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at CBR. The roundtable format proved to be so successful last year that the committee has decided to do it again. This format provides an opportunity for prospective buyers home buying questions to be answered in an informal, almost one on-one setting. Discussion topics will include purchasing a home, financing, and the importance of title searches and home inspections. The cost to attend is $5.00.
Please note that the Home Buyers Roundtable is geared to your first-time homebuyers and to those who have not purchased a home in several years. CORPAC Needs your help for the Upcoming Auction
Donate Auction Items -- The CBR CORPAC is looking for auction items for the annual CORPAC Auction next month (Tuesday, May 21 at the Villa Milano). Auction item ideas might include: a resort weekend, tickets to sporting events, kitchen/household items, wine or gift baskets, artwork, sports equipment, electronics, a golf outing ticket, etc. These are just a few ideas - but we're open to suggestions!
