Terry Penrod, Real Living HER

Terry Penrod is a member of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) National Board of Directors, where he, along with a group of volunteers comprised of corporate and community leaders from throughout the country, serve as the governing body charged with determining HRC's mission and purpose, sustaining the organization's vision, and establishing official policies. They are also responsible for fiscal management and budget approval. HRC is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.

Terry has been involved for about 10 years starting out as a volunteer for HRC's Annual Fundraising Dinner. Prior to being appointed to the Board of Directors, he was a member of HRC's Board of Governors, where he helped to build HRC's membership and relationships with local communities.

This year he was very proud to represent our community as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver Colorado. On his commitment to community service.

Terry says, "Community involvement and service have always been part of my life. I am an Eagle Scout so I learned at a young age the importance of lending a helping hand. My parents were also influential in encouraging service to community. As a child, I remember shoveling the snow from the sidewalks of our elderly neighbors."
