Cutover to TempoTM 5 postponed until March 25 But members can and should be using TempoTM 5 now

The date to officially switch over to the new TempoTM 5 has been postponed until March 25 to allow for:

  • MarketLinx to further resolve outstanding issues
  • Mapping improvements (such as parcel overlays and Rand McNally grids)
  • Third party developers to make RETS changes
  • Testing the system
  • Preparing users manual (major parts of the system are still under construction and need to be completed to add to the users manual.)
  • Develop/schedule training classes
  • Members to practice/test the system = more opportunity to resolve issues before we go live

However, members should be using the search functions in TempoTM 5 AFTER attending the TempoTM 5 Preview training class. You don't have to wait until the cutover. Only the "add/edit' functionality is not available. More info

Reminder -- You must now use grid coordinates from the 7th edition or later Rand McNally atlas

MLS members will be required to add the Rand McNally atlas map coordinates and page numbers to all of their new, active and contingent listings by March 1, 2008. The 7th edition or later version of the Rand McNally atlas can be found at Wal-Mart, Target, COSCO and a few service stations carry them. CBR also has them in stock at our Member Service Center for $18.95 each.

Expedite Square Footage Changes

Currently the Tax Record Sq Ft data field is auto-populated by the county auditor records and cannot be changed by members. The reason was so that MLS data coincided with that of the county auditor. However, the Franklin County Auditor's office has indicated that, the change could take several months depending on their internal schedule and routines. So the MLS Committee has authorized staff to change tax record square footage on a listing upon receipt of proper documentation from the builder/architect or authorization from a licensed appraiser.

Note: This is of particular value to members listing property in a cooperative (such as the French Quarter in Franklin County) where the county auditor records only display square footage for the total development instead of for individual units.

MLS Forms being updated to include Military Status as a Protected Class

As you are aware, HB 372, recently signed by Governor Strickland, added Military Status as a Protected Class? Deadline to update the Fair Housing Poster, pamphlets, broker's Consumer Guide to Agency Relationships and written agency agreements is March 25. In compliance, Section 11 of the residential and commercial MLS listing contracts will be changed to the new wording and available prior to the March 25 date. More info

MLS Welcome Screen Popping up too often?

We've received comments lately about the MLS Welcome Screen popping up all the time and thought we might clarify this issue. Originally, the MLS Welcome Screen popped up every time you opened CBR TempoTM. But, due to member feedback, this was changed October 2, 2007. Now the MLS Welcome Screen pops up only when new information has been added since your last visit. We hope this clears up any confusion.

MLS Fines

Warnings in January (119) decreased from December (143) while fines almost tripled (33 to 86). But then, it follows that mistakes would increase as there were significantly more listings added in January (4,416) compared to December (2,525). The highest number of warnings issued in January were for Municipality (28) and Taxing District (18). The top fines were for listings submitted to MLS but not available for showing (20).

TempoTM Wireless

There were 37 new subscribers to Tempo Wireless in January with 702 participants. Palm remains the #1 device and Verizon Wireless remains the #1 selected carrier.
