2008 Communication Committee

The CBR Communication Committee puts together a variety of programs throughout the year as well as some recognition opportunities. In addition to the programs below, we also provide article ideas and input on this magazine and consider options for public outreach programs promoting real estate.

Although not all dates are set yet, we wanted to give you a preview of exciting events and programs to come in 2008.

Obsessive Compulsive Sales! (Motivational Seminar) -- February 15
Come out and have a laugh with Twitchy. Yes, I said Twitchy! He's Stuart Ellis-Myers -- a dramatic model of self-inspiration and determination. Since the age of nine (9), Stuart has "suffered" from Tourettes Syndrome. Despite this handicap, Stuart has become an internationally known and respected speaker on communication, leadership, sales and customer relationship management practices that yield measurable results. He might even look familiar as he has appeared in twelve (12) television commercials.

His presentation -- Obsessive Compulsive Sales -- promises to be edutaining, experiential learning! OCS is all about positively traumatizing yourself to reach the next level! This program helps each participant to become obsessively compulsive about unlearning limiting performance beliefs and uniquely and personally adapting peak performance techniques in the field.

Investor Seminars -- February 7 & 21 and November 6 & 20
This series is one of the most popular and successful seminars our committee puts together. The investment program has a beginners section (part I -- February 7 and November 6) and an experienced section (part II -- February 21 and November 20). The beginning section will cover the basics of investing and how to get started. The experienced section will cover more complex topics like 1031 exchanges, large residential and commercial complexes. All in all this is a great opportunity for you and your clients.

Feng Shui Seminar -- May
Welcome to the ever popular world of Feng Shui. The CBR Communication Committee is offering these seminars as more and more clients are interested in homes that incorporate the principals of Feng Shui. These enlightening seminars focus on the art of placement, and flow of energy to create harmony and balance in all things. Come out and learn more about the art of Feng Shui.

Safety Seminar -- September
As sales agents, we often times put safety on the backburner. This year make it a priority -- we never know when we will need it. Find out lots of tips and tricks to keep yourself out of trouble.

Spotlight on community service award -- Quarterly
Ever quarter we recognize four of our own for a special community service award. So please help us put the spotlight on some deserving REALTORS®. Take a look around and send in your nominee.

Volunteer Service Award -- December
This award is given annually and all nominees must qualify. To qualify, you must have accumulated at least 10 points in a variety of activities in 2008. Activities include all areas of CBR involvement as well as state and national, contributions to CORPAC or the Foundation Fund, and community service.
