Karen Page, Real Living HER

Karen created and has run Shop Hop almost single-handedly for the past 4 years. This event was created to raise funds for scholarships for programs offered through Bexley Recreation for children from Bexley and surrounding neighborhoods.

Corporate support allows one hundred percent of all proceeds raised from the public to go directly to the Parks and Recreation Department Scholarships and Programs. Over the last 3 years, more than $12,000 in scholarships has been awarded. Children are referred to Bexley Recreation that need care throughout the summer or who want to participate in an activity where they have an interest. Bexley Recreation works to offer every child the opportunity to be cared for in the summer and to make it possible to participate in extra activities outside of school.

Karen said, "This year's Jeffrey Shop Hop IV was a great success -- hosting 26 vendors and over 1000 guest, and the money raised will enable the organization to provide more scholarships for more children in the Bexley and surrounding areas. She also noted that the Shop Hop is a great way to spend your weekend and support those who can benefit from our efforts."
