Dues are due January 1, 2008

Annual dues renewal invoices for 2008 were emailed to members in early November. In the email, there are two places to click to view your billing statement.

"CLICK HERE TO VIEW OR PAY YOUR CHARGES ONLINE" -- This is for anyone who wants to pay their 1st payment online. You'll need your login ID (which is your real estate license number) and the password, which is "cbr."
"CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE DETAIL" -- This brings up your entire statement, just as if it was mailed to you. You can print off a copy of the statement to keep for your records. Or you can print a copy to mail to CBR along with your 1st payment or your total 2008 dues payment.

As members, you may pay the total amount or the detailed charges by 01/02/08. If you choose to pay the detailed charges only, the balance of the 2008 dues will be invoiced in April.

The Tax Reform Act of 1993 made the portion of dues paid to organizations, which is spent to lobby the state and federal government, nondeductible for income tax purposes. For the year 2008, the nondeductible portion of OAR dues is $18; NAR $15; and CBR is $0 as CBR does not lobby state and federal government. Contributions to the Central Ohio REALTORS® Political Action Committee (CORPAC) are not tax deductible.

If you did not get an email bill, please email Lenora Moore, at Lmoore@columbusrealtors.com and she will send (via email) your 2008 dues billing statement.

Apply for the Volunteer Service Award

If you've served on any CBR committees, helped with any area association projects, contributed, donated or volunteered this year, you may qualify for this recognition. Check out the application inserted in this magazine. Deadline: Friday, December 14.

Call for Talent

CBR is planning a CBR Has Talent show featuring you -- CBR's talented members. The event is scheduled for the evening of Friday, March 13, 2008.

Right now, we're looking for interested participants. So, if you can sing, dance, act or have flair for comedy and would be willing to be a part of the program, please contact Gail Tate-Johnson at 614- 838-1150 or at simplygenuine.realty@hotmail.com. Deadline: December 11.

Commercial Section Election

Ballots and voting information for the Commercial Section positions will be mailed to Commercial Section members in mid December. Results will be posted on the web site and included in the January magazine.

MLS Election

Ballots and voting information for election of new MLS Committee members will be mailed early December and due back by mid December. For exact dates, please check the MLS Message Screen. Results will be posted on the web site and included in the January magazine.
