Michael Smith, Coldwell Banker King Thompson

Michael has sat on the Westerville Youth Baseball and Softball League for the past two years and has coached girl's softball for seven years.

This year marks the 56th year of play for the Westerville Youth Baseball and Softball League. Last year, more than 2,800 young people and 700 adult volunteers took part in their Spring/Summer and Fall programs - playing on 205 teams in 22 leagues on 38 diamonds all over our community. As a non-profit, independent volunteer group, the Westerville baseball/softball organization is the largest program of its type in Central Ohio.

Michael says, "In coaching I always stress teamwork?it's much more important than winning or losing. When these kids work together, backing each other up and cheering each other on, they gain confidence in themselves and that's how they really win."
