2007 Foundation Fundraising Committee Report

By Julie Morgan and Chris Pedon
Committee Chairs

The Fundraising Committee for the Columbus Board of REALTORS® Foundation Fund began the year with goals of raising $50,000 in new gifts and of promoting the general awareness of the REALTOR® Foundation Fund.

REALTOR® Foundation Walkway
We successfully began the REALTOR® Foundation Walkway project at the main west entrance of the CBR Membership Headquarters this year. Over 110 bricks have been purchased by members so far, engraved and set in the new walkway, all in time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony held in April. This initial installation of pavers enabled us to raise over $16,000 for the REALTOR® Foundation Fund. The REALTOR® Foundation Walkway will be a continuing project, with another drive to sell brick pavers for installation during October, and during the years to come. You, your friends, and loved ones can signify support for the REALTOR® Foundation Fund by ordering engraved brick pavers to be placed in the walkway. The order form is available on the CBR website!

Celebrity Waiters Luncheon and Auction
We are again having our Celebrity Waiters Luncheon and Auction, which will be held on Friday, November 9th at the Buckeye Hall of Fame Café on Olentangy River Road.

Don't miss the opportunity to be served by Roger "Coach Woody" Thomas, the "Buckeye Man", Coach Bill Conley, Buckeye Hockey Coach John Markell, OSU's Big 10 and NCAA Regional Women's Softball Champions, Pittsburgh Steeler Jim Bradshaw, former Buckeye greats Jimmie Bell, Maurice Hall, Roger Harper, Stanley Jackson, Jeff Logan, Rick Smith, Justin Zwick, and many more still to be confirmed! What's more, this year we've got two exciting sports celebrities who have agreed to serve as our Masters of Ceremony.

Mindy Drayer, who has been with NBC 4 since 1998, confirms that her most memorable story covered was Ohio State's thrilling win over Miami in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. An Ohio State graduate, Drayer loves following OSU football and high school basketball.

Paul Keels is the man with the deep pipes. He's also the ONN guy that Ohio turns to for Buckeye football and basketball, with a play-by-play style that adds excitement to any game. Paul has more than two decades of news and sports experience behind the microphone and has covered the Buckeyes since 1998.

To purchase tickets or reserve a table for the luncheon, call Brianna at (614) 475-4000.
