New TempoTM 5 coming in 2008!

CBR and MarketLinx have reached an agreement to upgrade to Tempo^TM 5 in the first quarter of 2008. Although technically this is a conversion to a new system, the process will be much less complicated than those of the past as this is more of an update of our current system.

The upgrade to Tempo^TM 5 will include a customizable start page, identity sharing, as well as enhancements to the MLS Welcome Screen, print options, prospecting and search criteria, preferences and results, and much more.

Classes are planned for January 2008. More info will be published as we draw closer.

MLS Areas will remain throughthe end of the year

Although the new mapping software eliminates the need for MLS Areas and we no longer publish map books, MLS Areas will remain a mandatory field until January 1, 2008. As such, failure to include the correct MLS Area when entering a listing continues to be a fineable offense.

The MLS Committee has alsoapproved:

• Invisible Fence will be added as a new amenity. This will be added in a future update the date of which is not available at this time.
• Having the CBR Tempo^TM system automatically send an e-mail reminder to REALTORS® ten days prior to their listing's expiration date. This will be added in a future update the date of which is not available at this time.
• Brokers and agents who have joined the MLS but not CBR will begin receiving the In Contract magazine beginning January 1, 2008.

Treo & TempoTM WirelessClasses

As of July, 499 CBR members had registered for Tempo^TM Wireless. However, reports indicate that only about half are logging in. If the reason you're not using this feature on your PDA or smartphone is because you're not comfortable with your Treo or the Tempo^TM Wireless program, sign up for one of the classes coming up.

Palm OS Treo Classes
September 14 l 10 a.m. - noon

$20 l 2 credit hrs.
Topics covered will include: General Treo tips and tricks, navigating within the Palm OS, and recommended practices for Palm OS-based device owners. Students should have a basic understanding of how to use a Palm OS handheld (not Windows Mobile), basic Internet navigation, and understand the real estate industry.

Tempo^TM Wireless
September 14 l 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
October 18 l 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
$10 l 1 credit hr.
Topics covered will include: Using CBR TEMPO^TM Wireless on a handheld device to Quick Search, MLS # Search, Roster Search, and contrasting the features of Tempo^TM Wireless and Supra eKey Pro. Students should have a basic familiarity with a Palm OS handheld, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, or other cell phone or smart phone with an unlimited data plan, basic knowledge of Internet navigation and understand the real estate industry. All devices must have an HTML browser in order to be compatible with Tempo^TM Wireless.

Required: You must register for Tempo? Wireless at wireless.columbusrealtors.com/register prior to attending the class. This site will get you registered for Tempo^TM Wireless only, not for the Tempo^TM Wireless class.
