News & Information : In Contract Magazine : September 2007 : 2007 C/I Membership Committee Report 2007 C/I Membership Committee ReportOur C/I Membership Continues to Grow!
I am pleased to write that theCommercial/Investment (C/I) Section of the Columbus Board of REALTORS® continues to grow. When I first began serving on this committee in 2005, there were 706 C/I members. As of 8-2-07, there are 724 C/I members out of 7,450 total CBR members. We have interviewed two new C/I brokers and 13 new applicants this year. The main purpose of the C/I Membership Committee is to interview Broker applicants for the C/I Section and to also review Agent Applications for the C/I Section. This year's committee consists of myself, Tom Ramage, Phil Crawford, Thomas Fritz, Joe Jackson, Ted Oatts, Shad Phipps, Thomas Ramage and Nidal Saleh. One of our main goals this year will be to update the Commercial Investment Section's Quick Reference Manual. This manual is especially useful to new REALTORS® specializing in the commercial real estate field. The manual includes the following:
To be a member of the Commercial/Investment Section, CBR's bylaws require a licensee to have either two years of experience in C/I real estate or to agree to take a C/I core course and a C/I elective course (not less than eight hours), sponsored by CBR or any institute that would offer courses. These courses must be taken within one year of applying for membership in this C/I Section. If you are interested in becoming a C/I Member, please contact Lenora Moore at CBR, (614) 475-4000 x253 or Elaine Parisi at HP Commercial Realty (614) 486-9100. |
