Heather Brookey, Coldwell Banker King Thompson

Heather Brookey serves on the fundraising committee for the Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) and has worked on almost all CAHS events including handling the planning and preparation for its major Celerbrity Chef fundraiser. She also participates with the Humane Society's HoHo Happening project, which involves teaming up with local pet stores to take pet photos with Santa.

Capital Area Humane Society, founded in 1883, shelters thousands of animals each year, responds to reports of animal cruelty, places adoptable animals in loving homes, provides animal-assisted therapy to children and seniors at area hospitals and retirement homes, teaches basic obedience skills through dog and puppy training classes and through spay/neuter efforts, prevents the unwanted birth of companion animals. CAHS also has an on-site medical staff and veterinary clinic, which provide care for both animals at the shelter and animals in their foster care program.

In addition, to her work with the CAHS, Heather has coached 5 & 6 year old girls soccer for the past fouryears.

Heather says, "My commitment to working with the Humane Society and coaching girls soccer is my way to give back to the community that supports my business and my family."
