News & Information : In Contract Magazine : July/August 2007 : 2007 Affiliate Liaison Committee Report 2007 Affiliate Liaison Committee ReportNewly created awards recognize CBR Affiliate/Sustaining membersBy Kim McCutchen, Chair The goal of our committee for 2007 is to raise awareness between our Affiliates that are members of the Columbus Board and the mortgage companies, brokers, title agents, inspectors who are not. What is the difference? The difference is that an Affiliate Member and/or a Sustaining Member is an individual or company that stands behind the industry. They believe in the REALTOR® and support their needs. After all the origination of our business is, most often, the REALTOR®. This year, we've been busy raising awareness for our Affiliates. We now have a CBR Affiliate/Sustaining Partner Program! This was created to recognize our Affiliates and or Sustaining members for their years of service and commitment to the CBR! The Affiliate/Sustaining Member must apply to the Affiliate Liaison Committee, with the proper criteria, which is five years in the real estate affiliated business, two consecutive years of individual membership in the CBR, two years of service on a CBR committee, one year of an area association membership and three REALTOR® recommendations. The applications will be available soon on the CBR web site. Secondly, we have developed a Longevity Award. This will include all the Affiliates/Sustaining Members who have been a member of the CBR for 10 years or longer. The Affiliate Appreciation Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 11:30 a.m. to 1;30 p.m. at the Board. We will have door prizes galore and present these new awards to the receiving affiliates. Please mark the date and plan to attend! Make a difference in your career, either as an Affiliate Individual Member or a Sustaining Member, join the Columbus Board of REALTORS®! |
