Cecilia Roman

Cecilia Roman is active in helping to provide health care, education and arts in the Latino community.

Licensed since 1978, Cecilia's business has become a center not only for real estate, but also for Latino community information and referral.

She is a member of the Junior League of Columbus and currently serves as president of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the Save Our Homes Task Force. She has also served as president of the Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for the Ohio Citizens for the Arts, the Columbus Museum of Art,Women's Board and the Opera Columbus Impresario Board.

Cecelia provides cultural sensitivity workshops for non-Spanish speaking educators and Spanish speaking health care workers and, for the last couple of years, has helped Latino vendors find opportunities to sell their products and services at the Latino Festival, assisted Latino families in need find appropriate housing and has established mechanisms for Latinos to receive support within Central Ohio.

Cecilia has been recognized for her contributions to the an award-winning series of legislative fact books on Children in Ohio and is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Junior League President's Award, the Jaycees' Outstanding Woman of the Year Award,Women of Note Award, the Helen B. Stark Award for Leadership from the League Against Child Abuse, the Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of 2000, LEON Community Award, the Las Damas Latina 10th Anniversary President Award and the 2006 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Award.

Cecelia says, "The education and the empowerment of others is a moral responsibility. The continual search for the appropriate match of an affordable and sustainable home ownership is the building of community. I am just here to help. I'm thankful for the opportunities."
