The Central Ohio Commercial Information Exchange (COCIE) was birthed 1 year ago as a result of commercial real estate firms wrestling with the administration nightmare of keeping data current, accurate & consistent from one data provider to the next.

With many people, firms and groups cooperating, the Columbus Board of REALTORS® Commercial MLS, the Columbus Commercial Industrial Investment REALTORS® (CCIIR) and C-Rex/Xceligent merged to become COCIE.

Our Goal: Make COCIE a cost effective, state of the art central Ohio commercial real estate resource for everyone: REALTORS®, developers, non-REALTORS®, local & state economic development personnel, bankers, attorneys, accountants, utility companies, etc.

COCIE is a "property" rather than a "listing" based system; meaning once a property and information has been created in the system, members will always be able to access it. So if a member searches the system, they'll find about 12,500 properties, 3,500 of which are for sale or lease.

The public has access via www.COCIE.org. Non-members with property for sale/lease are able to put their listings in the system. However, only COCIE members are able to see non-member information

As more residential REALTORS® are joining COCIE, we've become aware of a language gap. Consequently, the C/I Education Committee is considering a "Resimercial Class" to introduce residential agents to the commercial side,  and help them understand the differences and unique aspects of commercial real estate.

This year has been a foundational one for your governing board as we sought to ensure that the database was expanded and therefore enhanced and that the system was functioning efficiently and effectively for our membership. Our vendor, Xceligent, has proven to be a stalwart partner in COCIE's creation, maintenance and ongoing development thanks in great part to our service staff Catherine Erney (Directors of Client Services), Mandy Willesen (Senior Market Research Analyst) and our newest Research Analyst Angela Utz.

Enhancements have been made to the system this year at no additional cost such as the upgrade to CDXMail Plus.
