A member who does not have an e-mail address or does not wish to vote online, may come to the CBR office to request a paper ballot during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) from November 7 through 12:00 p.m. November 17, 2006. Prior to issuing a paper ballot, an authorized CBR staff member will access the online voting system and remove the members ability to vote online. Each completed ballot will be placed in an official ballot box. The Nominating Committee will count these ballots and add them to the votes cast electronically. For your information - Any member providing their password to another person is subject to a fine of $1,000 per occurrence. Any member attempting to cast a ballot using the name or password other than his or her own is subject to a fine of $1,000 per occurrence.
- No CBR member or staff will know who voted for whom. This online voting system database does not store that information.
- The MLS and C/I Section elections will not be held online but via paper ballot as has been customary.
| | Timeline: Oct. 12 - A personalized letter will be sent via regular mail to each member showing your e-mail address and asking you to contact CBR if incorrect. Note: If CBR does not have your correct e-mail address, you will not be sent a ballot. Please take any necessary action to allow your e-mail system to successfully accept e-mails from Vote@CBRelections.com. Oct. 24 - An e-mail will be sent to all CBR members in October explaining the online voting process. Oct. 31 - A second e-mail will be sent to all CBR members as a reminder to watch for the official election e-mail on Nov. 7. Nov. 7 - Notification of your opportunity to vote will be e-mailed to you. Members will cast their ballot by logging in to www.CBRelections.com via any computer, including the computers designated for member use in the library of the CBR Membership Headquarters. Nov. 14 - An e-mail reminder to vote will be sent to all eligible members who have not yet cast their vote. Nov. 17 - Election ends at 12:00 p.m. Nov. 20 - The Nominating Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. to ratify the election results and address any concerns/complaints regarding online voting process. Results will be posted on the CBR web site and MLS Welcome Screen after election is ratified and candidates are notified of the results. |
