Mary Jo Fetch

Mary Jo Fetch, Coldwell Banker King Thompson, has created a "Golden Thread" connecting her to the 82 members of the 285th ASMC Unit of the United States Army National Guard.

After speaking with a member of this Unit about real estate and finding out that the Unit was being deployed to Iraq, she set out on a mission to collect donated items for a farewell package to give to the soldiers.

She was successful in getting support from numerous businesses in Central Ohio and put together packages with a variety of items including, hand sanitizer, gift cards, sewing kits, toiletries, mints, plastic bags, pens, sunscreen, skin care products and various other odds and ends.

Mary Jo titled this project `Golden Threads" to signify the connection between our soldiers in Iraq and those of us here at home even though we are separated by thousands of miles.

Mary Jo says, "I was inspired to do this to let these young people know that we appreciate their sacrifice and to let them know that they have something to come home to. And, although this was a small gesture, the soldiers greatly appreciated our show of gratitude. For me it was quite rewarding to be able do something for the soldiers who do so much for our country."
