MLS Fines Update

It was decided to amend the policies regarding the following two violations so that a member receives a warning first providing them 24 hours to correct the violation before a fine is assessed.

  • Incorrect Property Type ($50 fine)
  • Entry of Branded Tour ($100 fine)

How the Warnings work:  Members will receive only one warning opportunity per policy violation per year. For example: Randy REALTOR® enters a branded tour and receives a 24-hour warning on July 1, 2006. Randy removes the tour within the 24-hour period and enters a modified (unbranded) tour, thereby negating any fine.

  • If Randy enters another branded tour before July 1, 2007, an immediate $100 fine will be assessed without warning.
  • If Randy enters another branded tour on or after July 1, 2007, he will again receive a 24-hour warning before a fine is assessed.

Virtual Tours may not be branded

Virtual tours that include, but are not limited to, verbal or written information such as email, addresses, websites, office-mobile-fax numbers, company affiliations, primary or ancillary advertisements, logos, agent or team names or identifiable codes or symbols" violate MLS Policy. Uploading these tours into the CBR Tempo? MLS is strictly prohibited and will result in a warning and removal of the tour for the first offense and a $100 fine/tour thereafter.

Creating a virtual tour is the responsibility of the agent. The tour itself will not be hosted in the MLS system internally. CBR TEMPO will only allow you to provide an external link to the virtual tour in the media section of the MLS listing.

"WALK-UP" and "EGRESS WINDOW(S)"

have been approved to be added to the list of basement amenity options on the MLS worksheet. However, this won't be available until late in the year.

Enhancements to be added in July

The next set of enhancements scheduled for June were postponed until mid-July. Although the entire list will be available on the MLS Welcome Screen, here are a couple we know are coming:

Change to MLS Areas 41 and 51  -- That part of MLS Area 41 that is east of Hoover reservoir with boundary lines of Lee and Schott Roads that run north to the Delaware county line will be removed from Area 41 and added to Area 51.

Knox County (KN) will be divided into 5 MLS Areas to coincide with current search practices by REALTORS® in the Knox County Board of REALTORS®:

  • KNW - Knox County Northwest including Middlebury, Berlin, Wayne and Morris Twps;
  • KNE - Knox County northeast including Pike, Brown, Jefferson, Monroe, Howard and Union Twps;
  • KSE - Knox County Southeast including Pleasant, Harrison, Butler, Morgan, Clay and Jackson Twps;
  • KSW - Knox County southwest including Liberty, Clinton, Hilliard, Milford and Miller Twps; and
  • KMV - Knox County Mt. Vernon Corporation limit
