A lucky thirteen members of the Midtown Area Realty Association (MAREA) spent the day in the sweltering heat working to finish the yard and landscaping at 826 South 18th St. Originally on Mayor Coleman's "worst of the worst" list, this home was completely gutted and rehabbed by Community Development for All People, then sold to a committed homeowner. MAREA's landscaping of the nearly desolate yard added the finishing touch. The home, now a beacon on this corner, stands as proof of the significant difference we can make working collectively to improve our neighborhoods. The MAREA raised $500 and received matching funds from the REALTOR® Foundation to assist in this project. Thanks to: Buzz Thomas for coordinating this event; John Edgar at CD4AP; Ace Hardware (Michael Lynch) for selling MAREA materials at cost; and the following laborers: Kristie Allen Pam Allen Mike Flinner Tim Gossman Paula Jenkins (homeowner) Dan Krumm Betsy Lynch Valerie McMichael Don Stoffer Buzz Thomas Regina Tobin Bradley Weatherford Sharon Young
