2006 is unfolding to be a very busy year for the hard working volunteers on the Communications Committee and is sure to offer a lot of fun, rewarding events for both the Board membership as well as members of the general public. benefits of homeownership.

As a committee, we are charged with undertaking projects to enhance the image of the REALTOR®; developing programs to promote real property ownership; enhancing the public and self-image of REALTORS®; promoting correct and constant use of the term "REALTOR®"; and serving as a sounding board for projects conducted by the communication department.

Let's take a look at some of the events the Communications Committee is excited to be offering in 2006.

Motivational Seminar -- February 8th
Join us for our second motivational event with a speaker who is sure to reach all of your emotions. Bryan Dodge will deliver his presentation, "How to Build a Better You" at the Columbus Funny Bone at Easton. Tickets are just $15 so grab a few of your co-workers and plan on joining us for a fun, inspirational day.

Investor Seminar Series -- February 2 and 16 (and again on November 2 and 16)
In what has become a very successful semi-annual offering to the general public, as well as any interested members of the CBR, this event is divided into two sessions: A beginner class covering the basics of investing and an intermediate class focusing on more detailed aspects of real estate investing such as 1031 exchanges, developing a portfolio of properties and the basics of establishing  entities or corporations.

Feng Shui Seminar -- (Date TBA)
Our third annual seminar will once again focus on the ancient art of Feng Shui. Feng Shui (pronounced "fung schway" and meaning literally "wind water") is part of an ancient Chinese philosophy of nature. This program has been well received by CBR members interested in learning more about this philosophy clients are asking about and/or requesting.

REALTOR® Care Day -- June 22
You are invited to join us once again as the REALTOR® community, along with the volunteers from the United Way, reaches out to help enhance a local community and help the current residents understand and appreciate the benefits of homeownership.
