(December 20, 2005) Housing market conditions in the Central Ohio area are positive with sales and appreciation coming in at higher than expected rates, according to the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. There were 1,899 sales in November, up 1.3 percent over last year. At 25,561, home sales year to date (Jan. through Nov.) are up 3 percent versus the first eleven months of 2004. “Although a 1.3 percent increase over last year doesn’t sound like much, I need to point out that we saw a huge jump in home sales – 17.6 percent - in November 2004.,” says Doug McCloud, President of the Columbus Board of REALTORS®. “Home sales usually slow down when the weather cools abruptly, which is what we experienced in November this year.
