2005 C/I Recognition Committee Report

C/I Recognition Committee

In keeping with long range planning goals established by last year's C/I Recognition Committee, CBR will be offering Commercial/Industrial awards in the following categories:

• 1031 Exchange Award
• Rookie of the Year
• Erika Blumenstein Award
• Largest Transaction
• Most Unique Transaction
• Top Ten Producers

We encourage all C/I members to participate. The forms have been simplified and can be easily downloaded from the board's website at ColumbusRealtors.com. Deadline for submissions is Dec. 14, 2005.

As in previous years, the awards will be presented during Forecast Night, which will be held January 18, 2006 at the Columbus Airport Marriott.

During the afternoon, the Builder/REALTOR® Alliance Committee (BRAC) will hold its annual Builders' Preview from 3:30 _ 5:30 p.m. where local builders can offer information on their development plans for 2006.

The Forecast Night portion of this day then begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. The program and dinner will start at 6:30 p.m.

This year's guest speaker will be Mr. Ted Jones, Ph d. the Director of Investor Relations for Stewart Information Services Corp. NYSE-STC and Chief Economist for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Prior to joining Stewart, he served as chief economist at Texas A&M University's Real Estate Center.

Ted was 2004 Chair (equivalent to our President) and currently serves on the board of directors of the Houston Association of REALTORS®, the second largest individual REALTOR® organization in the country with more than 20,000 members. He is also a member of the board of directors of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Texas Association of REALTORS®.
