Under Skip Weiler's leadership, CBR held its first REALTOR® Care Day on June 15, 2005. More than 100 volunteers spent the day painting, mulching, hanging doors, picking up trash, and planting at Mwanza Place -- a 24 unit rental complex owned by CHP.
This event was Skip's brainchild and he brought together CBR, CHPand United Way to co-sponsor this event. He also was involved in all aspects of this project, from participating in all of the organizational meetings to helping to coordinate the day?s event. Also, with paint bucket and brush in hand, Skip and his son Bobby joined the other volunteers in helping to revitalize Mwanza Place.
Mwanza Place is fully owned by CHP and, over the past twelve years, has endured considerable "wear and tear."
Skip says, "REALTOR® Care Day was a great event that allowed REALTORS® to give back to their community and to get recognized for doing so. Many REALTORS® give back often; this event just gave us a chance to do it together. It's my hope that REALTOR® Care Day will become a legacy event for the Columbus Board of REALTORS®."
