2005 C/I Membership Committee Report

At the time of this writing the total REALTOR® Membership, excluding affiliates and sustaining members, of the Columbus Board of REALTORS® is 6,474, of which 706 or approximately eleven percent consists of C/I practitioners. I am pleased to report that our ranks are constantly growing.

One of the purposes and functions that this Committee performs is to review membership applications into the C/I section of the Board and to interview and approve C/I section Broker applicants. To date, this year we have added 53 new members.

One of our primary goals this year was to update the Commercial Investment Section Quick Reference Manual. This manual contains a tremendous amount of useful information including current membership rosters, CBR Membership services, REALTOR® Associations, CBR discount programs, Commercial Websites, MLS participation information, C/I Award categories and a multitude of quick reference numbers for various private and governmental entities.

There is a detailed list of C/I organizations and their appropriate contact information along with C/I MLS Definitions and Terminology.

This reference manual also includes the latest Board approved sample contracts and a before closing checklist. As a C/I practitioner if you have not received your quick reference manual for 2005, you should in the very near future.

We are hopeful that this new and improved version of the Quick Reference Manual will be beneficial to both new and veteran C/I practitioners.

The C/I Membership Committee meets approximately six times annually in an effort to quickly expedite new member application approval. There are currently eight members serving on this Committee. We welcome your ideas and suggestions and encourage your participation in this or any of the C/I Committees serving the Columbus Board of REALTORS®.
