Sharon Cook, Coldwell Banker King Thompson, has been elected chairwoman of the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees. Cook is a 1961 graduate of Bowling Green and has been on the board since 1998.

Jeanine Hanna, HER Real Living, has been honored by RISMedia as Top REALTORS® on the Rise. RISMedia's Real Estate Magazine unveiled its first REALTORS® on the Rise competition, which spotlights 50 of today's most ground-breaking and profitable agents. Real Estate editors selected winners from hundreds of submissions. The winners were chosen for being creative, technologically proficient, business minded, socially active and highly successful.

Ealnor Grey, Affordable Real Estate Company, has earned the Graduate REALTORS®, Institute (GRI) designation. This designation is awarded by the Ohio Association of REALTORS®.

Liz Davis of Northwest Title has recently been promoted to vice president in Charge of Operations for Northwest Title and Family of Companies. Liz will be responsible for all technical and information services for each of the 8 Northwest Title companies as well as the establishment of all new offices.

Harley E. Rouda, Jr., CEO and Managing Partner for Real Living, Inc., was among five other real estate executives to discuss the future of real estate at Real Estate Connect 2005 _ a leading event for real estate, technology and innovation. The Real Estate Connect Conference enables top executives from across North America the opportunity to network with other real estate lenders and learn about real estate innovations.

Cathy Tabor has recently taken on the position of vice president/area manager for First American Title Insurance Company, formerly known in the Columbus area as Midland Celtic Title. Cathy will be responsible for supervising employees in four offices, managing sales, marketing, personnel and daily operations. Prior to working for First American, Cathy was president of a title agency in Cleveland, Ohio.

Real Living, Inc. was honored with the 2005 Most Innovative Real Estate Brokerage award during Real Estate Connect 2005. The award recognizes companies of all sizes that use technology and innovation to enhance the real estate transaction for consumers and real estate professionals. Real Living was one of two companies to receive the honor out of 65 other final nominations.

Effective immediately Epcon Communities, Inc. (formerly The EPCON Group, Inc.,) and EPCON Communities Franchising, Inc. (formerly EPMARK, Inc.) are now EPCON Communities.

Joyce Rhinehart, Area Manager with First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation, earned her company's President's Club Award at a dinner in Philadephia on 8/9/05 for outstanding sales volume.

In Memoriam

Omar Willard Lindner, owner and broker of Lindner Realty, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at Wexner Heritage Village. He was a decorated Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Seventh Army and 42nd Rainbow Division of the 242nd Regiment. Lindner was a former teacher of science, chemistry and mathematics at Hebron High School, Grove City High School and Bexley Junior High. He was member of the Bexley Historical Society and a 50 year member of Christ Lutheran Church. Lindner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; daughter, Deborah (Mihai) Craioveanu of Holland, MI; granddaughter, Michelle; brother, Delmar (Marty) Lindner of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Shirley Lindner of Bexley, Nancy Seibold of Chicago and Martha Lindner of Cincinnati; brother-in-law, Bob Beyer of Cincinnati; many nieces and nephews.

Jay N. Baird, a broker with Bruce J. Baird Realty, passed away on Saturday, August 6, after a six-year battle with brain cancer. Jay also was a former Licking County Commissioner, served two terms on the Licking Heights Board of Education and was a farmer dedicated to farm issues. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Baird; son, Alexander Baird; parents, Bruce and Judy Baird of Pataskala; sisters, Susan Baird, Sandra (Paul) Gundler and Catherine Baird-Veley all of Pataskala; nieces, Madelyn, Sarah, Hannah and Heather; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hartford Fair-Sheep Improvement Committee, Memory of Jay N. Baird, P.O. Box 317, Hartford, Ohio 43013 and/or the Education Fund for Alexander Baird, C/O The Pataskala Banking Company, 354 S. Main St., Pataskala, Ohio 43062.

Mary Elizabeth Brown passed away on August 5, 2005. She was an associate with The Alt Co., REALTORS® and a member of the Columbus Board of REALTORS® for over 40 years. She also was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church for 50 years, served in the Elizabethan Guild, the Legion of Mary and was an active volunteer in support of St. Jude's Hospital. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Charles W. "Bill", son William Thompson, grandson Philip Charles. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Becky), Mark (Krista), granddaughters, Jennifer, Andrea and Kate.
