Ted Oatts

Ted Oatts has been an active member of Sharon Woods Baptist Church since 1971, helping make a difference in people's lives.

Over the years, he has served as Director of Music, Director of the Men's Ministry, where he helps build churches throughout Ohio, Bible teacher and Deacon. He also has chaired most of the Church's committees.

In 1986, Ted volunteered his time as a building project manager every day for a year to rebuild the church sanctuary, which had been burned down by an arsonist, coordinating over 7000 hours of volunteer labor as well as many building subcontractors.
Ted is active in the community. He serves meals to the homeless at Stowe Center in downtown Columbus, works on houses for Habitat for Humanity, volunteers at Marburn Academy, a school for A.D.H.D. kids, and gives time to the Worthington Chamber of Commerce.

Ted lives by his philosophy that "Everyday is a new day and a new opportunity", and his motto "Never Quit".

When asked why he gives so much of his time, Ted's response is, "True greatness is found in serving others."
