Sue Berg

Since early childhood, Sue Berg has been instilled with a competitive spirit that she shares with her sons, Nick, Scott and Brett, and all children.

Thus, it is only fitting that she serves as Sponsor and Head Coach of her son's team in the North Columbus Sports Baseball League each summer and their basketball team in the winter.

Sue's motto is, "Sports teach kids about life." She and her husband, Dan, can be seen playing every sport with the boys at the park behind their home in Northwest Columbus.

Sue also is an Ohio Reads volunteer, past president of her neighborhood Civic Association and currently serves as chair of the Ways and Means Committee at Wright Elementary School.

Sue feels strongly that reading is the foundation of learning and the Ohio Reads initiative is a partnership of schools, businesses, community organizations,libraries, parents, educators, and students working together to improve reading skills.

Sue says, "I want my children to grow up to be `doers' and not being ordinary people who watch life pass them by. I tell them extraordinary people find time to grow as individuals and reach out to help others. It's these people who succeed in life."
