If you're not having fun, don't do it!

Can you believe it's April already? March 20 marked the first day of Spring and with it, the end of yet another wacky Ohio winter. And the frenzied real estate selling season is almost upon us. Many of you have commented on how business is picking up already.

It seems the older you get the faster time goes, but selfishly, I hope I can slow this year down just a bit so I can have as much fun as your President as I have had over the last 33 years in this exciting, yet sometimes, frustrating business.

A very good REALTOR® friend of mine periodically says "Can you believe this? What a great business! With no inventory, warehouses or stores and a pen and paper your can make a great living working with a great bunch of self starting entrepreneurs and have fun doing it". One of my favorite sayings is "if you aren't having fun, don't do it" and I think most successful REALTORS® do have fun or they wouldn't do it.

I'd like to share a couple of my life's philosophies that have helped me, both personally and professionally.

1. Never worry about those things that you cannot control
2. It's a long life in a small town. Conduct yourself accordingly.

For those of you who know me, you know I am more of a talker than a writer. But, much to my delight, writing this article has been fun. So I guess if I am asked "Are you having fun yet?" I would have to answer YES!

Hondros donates education classes

I'm excited to report that Hondros College has volunteered to donate education classes for the Scholarship Program offered through CBR's REALTOR® Foundation Fund. Although details have not been finalized, the scholarships will be in the name of the founder of the college, John G. Hondros, and will include grants for both the pre-license and post licensing education classes required by the state. Hondros is doing this as they believe in contributing to the industry which they educate and want to promote successful careers in real estate. Thank you Hondros!
