The Communication Committee of the Columbus Board of REALTORS® is YOUR committee (whether you are a committee member or not.) Here's Why...
The Committee undertakes 2 types of projects:
- Offering service and information to REALTORS®.
- Enhancing the image of REALTORS® to the general public.
The 2005 program is loaded with both types of projects.
For REALTORS®:
We are kicking off 2005 with "Laughing All the Way to the Bank" , a Motivational seminar at The Funny Bone from 1:00pm - 3:30pm on Valentine's Day. Dave Caperton and Luke the Juggler will tickle your ribs AND jump-start your brain cells. See the flyer in this issue and sign up now to laugh and learn with your fellow REALTORS®.
Our spring offerings include the well-received Feng Shui seminar (which offers CE.) Our REALTOR® instructor provides guidelines and clues to help your listings sparkle with positive energy that go well beyond the typical "staging." Join us for a 1/2 day of fascinating and productive information. Details will be published in a future issue of In Contract magazine.
Our REALTOR® Safety Seminar in the fall is provided on the afternoon of Sales Associates Day (for CE.) Our instructors demonstrate and educate REALTORS® on subjects that we don't like to think about but need to know. REALTORS® serve the public in a very open yet intimate environment. This class will help us perform our jobs with awareness, common sense (and some cool tools too.)
Throughout the year, the Communications Committee facilitates the Spotlight on Community Service awards. These are quarterly vignettes highlighting members of the REALTOR® community who devote their time and talents to serving their communities outside of real estate. Every quarter, we publish the application as well as the four recipients so you can see how your fellow REALTORS® are serving the public. And please submit your own activities as well. We're proud of You!
For the Public:
Our Investment Seminars have been split into 2 segments this year. Part I (the ABC's of Investing) is being offered on February 3, 2005 at CBR. Part II (Advanced Investing) will be given on Feb. 17, 2005 at CBR. Bring or send your investor clients to either or both of these and feel free to come yourself for outstanding expert advice on a popular subject. We hope to offer this pair of seminars later in the year as well.
REALTOR® Care Day
This is the first year for what we plan to be an annual event between the Columbus Board of REALTORS® and the Columbus Housing Partnership through United Way of Central Ohio. We will select a single housing project as a volunteer outreach event. Some of the tasks will include painting, clean-up, construction and repair work. The goal is for CBR volunteers to experience first-hand needs of our community and how one day of work can make a positive impact on peoples lives. Tentatively this project is planned for June 15, 2005.
