Tempo I is a beginner course for Tempo users.

Prerequisites: Basic familiarity of the Internet, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and an understanding of the real estate industry.

Topics Covered: Quick Search, MLS# Search, Archive Search, and Add/Edit of Listings.

This 3-hour CE class is being taught by Brian Lieburn (BIA Green Task Fore and Senior Vice President, Sovereign Homes). Eco-friendly, healthful homes are "in" and this is your chance to obtain valuable information for your clients and yourself. Instructor, Brian Lieburn, in addition to being on the BIA Green Task Force is also an instrumental force in Central Ohio Green Building Intiative. Brian will focus on building "Green:" What it is and why build Green? Is it an attitude or a movement? Who benefits? What are the goals? What are the energy savings opportunities? What is resource efficiency and renewable resources? What is indoor envirnomental quality? What are the safety issues and what changes have been made? Plus, so much more! You will get all the answers and you won't want to miss this opportunity to hear Brian Lieburn, who is an expert on "Green" (new and existing) homes.

This is a course offering for Palm OS-based Treo users. This class is for Palm OS Treo users (not Windows Mobile).

Prerequisites: basic understanding of how to use a Palm OS handheld (not Windows Mobile), basic Internet navigation, and understand the real estate industry.

Topics covered will include: General Treo tips and tricks, navigating within the Palm OS, and recommended practices for Palm OS-based device owners.

This class will cover all facets of TEMPO Wireless for handheld devices. Prerequisites: basic familiarity with a handheld PDA device such as Palm OS handheld, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, or other cell phone or smart phone with an unlimited data plan, basic knowledge of Internet navigation and an understanding of the real estate industry. All devices must have an HTML browser in order to be compatible with Tempo Wireless.

Topics covered will include: Using CBR TEMPO™ Wireless on a handheld device to Quick Search, MLS # Search, Roster Search, and contrasting the features of Tempo Wireless and Supra eKey Pro.

This 3-hour CE class focuses on the utilization of the CDX application used with the Central Ohio CIE. COCIE is a vital commercial property listing tool available to commercial as well as residential agents. Attendees will learn to: search and report on commercial availabilities; use advanced search techniques such as map search; produce tour packages for client tours; send CDX Mails; add, edit and manage listing inventories.

REALTOR® Morning – 9 – 11 a.m. only REALTORS® are invited to view the Parade homes free of charge on REALTOR® Morning (cost is $10 after 11:00 a.m.).

REALTOR® applicants attending New Member Orientation within 60 days of application will receive a $50 refund of their application fee. This one-hour CE course, presented by Deb Krejci (VP, Business Development, SBA Division for US Bank) and Jerry Archambault (VP, Sales Manager Central Ohio, Business Banking Division for US Bank)will inform the commercial real estate agent on updates in commercial lending. Topics: Financing today, standard loan programs, basic components of any loan, SBA vs. traditional loans, structuring a loan from application to close, current events, plus there will be time for Q & A. Because of the rules and regulations from the Ohio Division of Real Estate prohibiting a continuing education course during a meal function, the boxed lunch will be served before the program at 11:30 a.m. The program will begin at noon. No lunches may be consumed after the program starts. Participants must arrive by 11:30 a.m. and no one will be admitted after the program starts.

Tempo III is an intermediate/advanced Tempo course.

Prerequisites: Tempo I and Tempo II or equivalent knowledge and experience. Topics Covered: Custom Reports, Download, Statistics, Financial Functions, Client Listing Site, and Agent/Broker Reports. (3 hours of CE credit).

This 3-hour CE course, taught by Belinda Ohlinger (Realtor, Warner and Associates) is designed to cover the Ohio Canons of Ethics and the National Association of Realtors Code of Ethics and is geared more for the agent who transacts residential real estate. Case studies for the Residential Realtor will be used to identify ethical and unethical behavior and to determine which articles of the state Canon of Ethics and the NAR Code of Ethics are being violated. Discussion will evlove around the grievance process and understanding how complaints are evaluated. The process of arbitration and mediation, as well as, identifying the possible penalties for ethics violations will be covered, also. Discussion will include steps an agent might take when faced with an ethical dilemma.

We’ll be serving brats and hotdogs for lunch and each vendor will be providing a door prize valued at $50. There will also be a 50/50 raffle with the proceeds going to the CBR Foundation Fund. The Residential Purchase Contract was introduced in March 2004. Since then, there have been revisions to and some confusion about the contract. This course is a comprehensive review of the contract and how it relates to doing business without problems. The focus of the course is to provide clarity and to review the common issues that have surfaced. The course is designed to educate the membership in how to use the purchase contract effectively in business, and it is necessary whether you have been in the real estate business a month or twenty years.
