Welcome Screen Due to the increased number of requests for non MLS-related information to be posted on the MLS Welcome Screen, the MLS Committee addressed this issue at their last meeting. The MLS Committee maintains that the MLS Welcome Screen continues to be used for authorized CBR notices only. The only exception is to post the visitation/funeral arrangements in the event of the death of a REALTOR® Member or CBR Past President. MLS Delivery Service The MLS Delivery Service is available for promoting real estate and CBR related activities and services as well as for a REALTOR® member to announce their candidacy for a board elected office. (Note: MLS book delivery subscriptions are about 367.) Not listed but sold by MLS member Properties not listed but sold by MLS members shall be included in the comparable book and listed as one-line information in an index. Don’t see the MLS Welcome Screen when you log in? Are you running any sort of Internet Security software or pop-up blocker software? These type of programs can interfere with the functionality of the MLS system. To test this disable your Internet Security and/or pop-up blocker Software. Then get on the MLS system. If the MLS system is now functioning properly we have found the issue. If it is your Internet Security and/or pop up blocker that is intefering you should be able to set up the MLS web page as a trusted site in these programs so that you can access MLS with the Internet Security and/or pop-up blocker software enabled. Price increase for Residential Book subscribers Effective November 1, the price of your Residential Book increases from $12.75 per copy (includes tax) to $15.00 per copy (includes tax). For more detailed information and an order form, please refer to the two pages inside the front cover of your October 22 publication. Please be certain your office broker, administrative staff and Realtors that subscribe are aware of this change. The cost of the Commercial Book ($9.25 includes tax) and Comparable Book ($15.00 includes tax) remains the same. | | Commission on bank owned property There exists a policy by some lenders that a real estate commission will not be paid on a bank-owned listing if the property is purchase by a REALTOR®. There is no legal barrier to lenders exercising such a restriction. However, because offers of compensation made through the MLS must be unconditional, the broker submitting such a listing is obligated to make this clear to other MLS participants. In order to accomplish this, the broker must send a letter to each participant of the MLS communicating the fact that the compensation indicated in the MLS will not be paid if the property is purchased by a REALTOR®. Further, they must note in the letter that this listing as well as any future listings which have this exception will be marked as “corporate owned” or “lender owned”. (This eliminates the need to send a letter each time the broker takes another such listing.) Any other notation in the remarks section is inappropriate. MLS Staff will input missing data MLS staff is directed to continue to input missing data (i.e. parcel numbers) where possible when discovered. MLS Meetings Due to the confidential nature of issues addressed, the MLS Committee meetings will be limited to those who were elected or appointed to serve on the committee, CBR Officers and Directors, staff, and guests approved in advance by the Chair. Windows XP Service Pack 2 Members upgrading to Windows XP Service Pack 2 experienced a few issues with CBR TempoTM. (i.e. Custom Hot Sheets was incompatible, the download functionality in Quick Search failing and when trying to cancel an export in the Prospect area.) Those issues have been addressed and the upgrade should not cause problems with CBR Tempo. However, this upgrade is still significant enough that we caution members to backup your system and close all other programs, including antivirus software, before executing this upgrade. |
CBR TempoTM Sidebar
On October 14, CBR TempoTM introduced the new sidebar. The Sidebar is like the top drawer on your desk: most of the time it’s closed while you work, but when you need something you keep there, just slide it open it and it’s at your fingertips. The Tempo Sidebar – like your top desk drawer – is closed by default, visible only as a thin gray bar on the left-hand side of every screen in Tempo. Just click anywhere on the bar and voila! – it slides open. Just click on the bar again to snap it shut. For the Tempo Sidebar to work correctly you must use Internet Explorer version 6.0 or greater.
There are 4 different features on your Tempo Sidebar:
- MLS Links - MLS Links is a categorized list of links to other websites that MLS members will find beneficial. This list is provided and managed by MLS staff.
- My Links - My Links are links the user can place in the sidebar as their own favorites using the preferences option to configure. To create your own personal links you must first create a category/heading for your links. Click the New Category button. The Tempo sidebar allows you to categorize your links, as an example Real Estate could be a category heading. After creating a New Category it is important to click the Save button.
- After creating a category you can now create links to appear in your Tempo Sidebar. Click the New Link button. In the label blank give the link a name (ex: Inman News). In the URL blank provide the web address for the favorite site (ex: www.inman.com). Click the Save button to save your link. After creating your list of favorite links click the Exit Preferences button.
- Prospect Watch - Prospect Watch allows the agent to view the listings emailed to their clients from Prospect Search. The number indicates how many listings were emailed to the client. The number links to an Agent Full Report so that the agent can view the listings emailed to their client.
- Inventory Watch - Inventory Watch allows the user to view their current inventory. The agent needs to activate the Inventory Watch by clicking the Preferences button. In the Inventory Watch configuration choose the status(es) to watch from the Available Options box and click the >> button to move them to the My Selected Options box. Then click the Save button.
After configuring your inventory watch click the Exit Preferences button. The count for each status links to the Inventory screen for that status.
Sidebar Settings
Each agent has control over some display settings of their Tempo Sidebar by clicking the Preferences button in the Inventory Watch or My Links section. To update the settings click Sidebar Settings.
The agent can choose which of the four features (MLS Links, My Links, Prospect Watch, Inventory Watch) will appear in their Tempo Sidebar. If you want to remove a feature from the sidebar click on it in the My Selected Features box and click the << button. The Up and Down button allows the agent to re-order how the different sidebar features are displayed.
The Default Active Feature allows the agent to choose which feature section is open by default when an agent logs into the CBR Tempo system and selects to open their sidebar. After making changes click the Save button. Then click the Exit Preferences button.
