by Bob Miller, Chair
The Columbus Board of REALTORS® Fund has grown to over $250,000 during 2004.
Very important grants have been made from the fund this year to support housing in the Central Ohio area. They include: Coalition on Homelessness and Housing, Greater Columbus Habitat for Humanity, Greater Linden Community Development Corporation, Homes on the Hill and Take It To The Streets. The fund also awarded an academic scholarship this year through Columbus State Community College.
Many gifts have been made in memory of: Todd Bean, Hugo Cabrera, Sarah M. Calhoon, Gene Collins, Homer Coss, Thomas Kohr, Bill McCorkle, John F. Pepper, Carlyle V. Perry, Oliver Rowe, Irving Schottenstein, Vivian Snowman, and Robert Vogt.
Other gifts have been received in honor of: CBR’s 2003 Affordable Housing Committee, in honor of Barbara Lach being our 2004 President of the Ohio Association of REALTORS® and in honor of CBR’s Chief Executive Officer Larry Metzger.
In addition, the four subcommittees of the Advisory Board- Housing Related Projects, Scholarships, Promotions/Marketing and Annual Campaign- have been hard at work planning fundraising events and awarding scholarships and grants from the fund.
We encourage you to contribute to the REALTOR® Foundation Fund. You can do so in many ways including planned giving and bequests, endowed scholarships, in kind gifts, commemorative or memorial gifts, or cash gifts.
If you have any questions regarding opportunities to give to or participate in the CBR Foundation Fund, please contact Stan Collins at 475-4000, ext. 235.
